On October 8th 2020, the Kick-off meeting of the mobilising project City Catalyst – Catalyst for sustainable cities took place, marking the beginning of the work proposed in the application. The event took place in an online format, with the participation of all the co-promoters involved in the consortium.
The City Catalyst project brings together a consortium of 22 national entities, including 11 companies and 11 non-company entities of the Research and Innovation System, with the ambition to investigate and develop new products, processes, and services with high potential, contributing to an integrated urban management, efficient and catalyst for innovation, from specific contributions to the implementation and interoperability of urban platforms.
The project is structured in 5 PPS oriented to the development of R&D activities that will take place over 36 months:
- Sensing, communication and computing processing infrastructures.
- Security and privacy information
- Data models and interfaces.
- Open innovation and co-creation processes for the competitiveness of smart cities.
- Development of systems that promote sustainability in cities.
Additionally, PPS 6 will ensure the management and communication procedures of the project.
During the Kick-off event the main objectives and activities foreseen in each of the PPS were revisited, as well as the main administrative and financial procedures that must be fulfilled during the execution phase of the project.
